A full-length play set in the Nimba - a village in a Guinea Coast country - centring around historical events, particularly a massacre in the village. Dealing with colonialism, betrayal, tradition, gender issues, impotence and continuity, it uses the women of the village - the rice keepers - as a focus for its commentary. Also utilises the ritual of dance and the mask, which embodies the past and predicts the future.
